Here’s an example of our ideal first floor layout, demonstrating three of our signature design principles:

1. Bedroom wardrobes

A. We recommend locating built-in wardrobes along the shortest wall in your bedroom. This avoids the room becoming overly long and disproportionate.

B. If possible, locate your bedroom door to one side of the wardrobes so you can have longer wardrobes with more capacity. With this layout, you’ll have one wall of seamless wardrobes with maximum storage, giving you an efficient space and visual appeal.

2. Bathroom layout

Follow this layout order for a simple and clean bathroom: shower, toilet and basin. The reason for this sequence is it’s much more pleasing to walk into the bathroom with a beautiful basin facing you (rather than the toilet!)

Simplicity is key in bathroom design. A streamlined design will make the room feel more spacious and generous – go simple with the layout and put more energy into the aesthetics!

3. First floor landing

This clean, efficient landing gets a huge chef’s kiss from our team! This is a perfect example of excellent circulation – you don’t need a giant area here, better to prioritise the space for your bedrooms.
